To initiate the claims process, contact your insurance provider to file a claim. An adjuster will then be assigned to your case and will need your contractor’s information in order to schedule an appointment at a mutually convenient time, during which you should be present alongside your contractor.
The adjuster will create a settlement claim based on the observed damage to initiate the claims process, but the initial amount is not final as there could be variations in damage coverage or estimated costs. It gets the process going.
The contractor will then negotiate with the insurance company to determine the final agreed scope of work and final pricing for completing all repairs, reaching an agreed-upon price to fix the damages covered by insurance. This process involves satellite reports, securing various subcontractor bids, determining actual pricing on custom windows and a fairly in depth cost and substantiation process. Once an approved amount and scope is determined materials can be ordered and work started
